Community guidelines

Last updated on 12 July 2023

DIY Educ community spaces are public places where users (students and instructors) can interact with each other. To ensure that the DIY Educ community continues to be a safe, welcoming, and respectful place, you agree to abide by the following rules in all community locations:

  1. Respect the privacy of other members and protect your own. Do not disclose personal information in public areas of the Site. This includes but is not limited to, transaction details, personal contact details, and the verbatim content of private correspondence.
  2. Do not use community spaces to discuss interactions with the Site representatives or to share verbatim excerpts from such conversations (e.g. emails, private messages, etc.). Please be aware that most communications between you and DIY Educ are considered private ones and we ask that you maintain this confidentiality. Please see our PRIVACY POLICY.
  3. Don’t use a fake identity and do not create sock puppet accounts. (All sellers are required to pass identity verification before starting to sell products on the Site.)
  4. Be respectful of other community members. Be kind and polite. Do not use community spaces to publicly denigrate a particular seller, DIY Educ representative, store, listing, or product category.
  5. Do not use community tools or spaces to interfere with another seller’s business.
  6. Don’t spam. This includes unwanted or duplicate posts or links to your store, fundraiser, surveys, social media, or other promotional content.
  7. Do not use community spaces to negotiate prices or discuss fee evasion with other sellers.
  8. Do not use community spaces to harass other members. Likewise, do not post content to communities that may promote, support, or glorify hate, misinformation, or violate DIY Educ policies.
  9. Do not post threats of violence against others, and do not encourage others to engage in violence or illegal activities.
  10. Do not engage in illegal activities or activities that violate anyone’s intellectual property, and do not encourage others to engage in such activities.
  11. Do not use community spaces to encourage others to violate DIY Educ policies.
  12. Do not use community spaces to discuss politics.
  13. Do not use adult language in avatars, usernames, and post texts.
  14. Do not use nudity or graphic violence in avatars, banners, and post photos.
