Materials & tools

For the table runner, we recommend using cotton yarn. In this video tutorial for the table runner (93 basic chain stitches) we used approximately 750 meters of cotton yarn #4 twisted in two strends. A 4mm crochet hook was used.
For the rug, we suggest using polyester cord. It’s hypoallergenic, sun-resistant, durable, and machine-washable. Polyester cords offer a rich variety of colors, including solid shades, two-color mixes, and gradients transitioning from one color to another. For the rug, a 5-6mm polyester cord with a core (requiring an 8/9/10mm hook) or a thinner 3-4mm cord without a core (suitable for a 6/7mm hook) will be suitable.
Estimated cord consumption for the rug (123 basic chain stitches):
– 5-6mm cord: around 2000 meters
– 3-4mm cord: about 1600 meters
Note: Material estimates are approximate; having a surplus is advisable. Cord usage depends on its thickness, hook size, stitch density, and the size of the runner. Polyester cord can be purchased on Etsy.
