Lightweight Men’s Mesh Crochet Pullover – Filet Crochet Pattern

A truly lightweight, almost summer-style men’s pullover, made using filet crochet.
Pattern Notes:
This is a filet crochet project. An empty square on the chart represents a blank space, while a filled square represents a block (with a circle inside).
Size:
Chest circumference: 120 cm (47 in)
Length: 67 cm (26.4 in)
Materials:
500 g of 100% cotton yarn.
Hook: 1.5 mm
Circular needles: 2.5 mm
Gauge:
Filet crochet: 18 squares wide and 13–14 rows high = 10 x 10 cm
Knitting: 32 stitches wide and 14 rows high = 10 x 10 cm
Stitch Patterns:
- – 1×1 Ribbing: Knit 1, Purl 1 (worked with needles)
- – Main pattern: Filet crochet according to the chart, using double crochets; start each row with 3 chain stitches for turning.

Instructions
Back:
Chain 211 sts. Transfer to circular needles and knit 12 rows in 1×1 ribbing.
Continue in filet crochet. At 41 cm height, shape the armholes by decreasing 12 double crochets on each side.
At 63 cm, for each shoulder, bind off 22 stitches 3 times.
Finish the work at 67 cm height.
Front:
Work as for the back.
To shape the V-neck, at 38 cm height divide the work in half.
Double the center stitch and decrease 1 stitch on each side 30 times.
Shape shoulders as for the back.
Sleeves:
Chain 88 sts. Work 14 rows in 1×1 ribbing.
Increase 1 stitch on each side every other row 30 times.
Finish at 48 cm height.
Assembly:
Join all pieces using crochet stitches.
Pick up 227 stitches around the neckline and knit a ribbed collar using circular needles.
At the tip of the V-neck, decrease 3 stitches.
