Hat Edge Trim (optional)
Switch to burgundy yarn.
Work the edging around the hat:
– Crochet from left to right, make 2 ch, skip 1 stitch on the hat, then work 1 sc.
Repeat this pattern all around the edge.
Ball (Pom-pom) for the Hat
Row 1: 6 sc in MR

Row 4: 6 dec (6) — tighten the opening, leave a tail for sewing.
Sew the ball to the tip of the hat.
Assembly
Sew the legs very close to each other, slightly shifted forward.
Sew the nose so that its upper edge aligns with the arm level. Sit the gnome upright when positioning the nose — it should face forward, not upward.
Beard
Cut yarn strands approx. 16–18 cm long (fold in half to check the desired beard length).
Insert one strand at a time using a hook into the stitches, fold in half, and tie 2 knots.
Fill the beard area in a semicircle, about 2–3 rows depending on desired density.
