PATTERNS AND INSTRUCTIONS
Stockinette Stitch
Knit rows — knit stitches;
Purl rows — purl stitches.
Crochet Pattern
Number of stitches must be a multiple of two.
Work directly on the bound-off edge of the sleeves according to the chart.
When working back and forth, begin each row with 3 turning chains instead of the first double crochet and the stitches before the repeat; repeat the pattern multiple times, then finish with the stitches after the repeat. Repeat Rows 1 and 2 throughout.
When working in the round, only repeat the chart pattern. Replace the first double crochet of the round with 3 starting chains, and join each round with a slip stitch in the last starting chain.
Stripe Sequence
Work 1 row/round each with black, chestnut, and golden yarn;
-
1 round black, 1 round chestnut; repeat from * 2 more times;
1 round golden; -
1 round black, 1 round chestnut; repeat from * 2 more times;
Finish with 1 round golden = 17 rounds total.
Gauge
12.5 sts × 16.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch;
9 sts × 7 rows = 10 x 10 cm in crochet pattern (worked flat);
10 sts × 7 rounds = 10 x 10 cm in crochet pattern (worked in the round).
Note:
Crocheted sections are worked from top to bottom. Arrows on the pattern indicate the direction of crocheting.
The crochet pattern used for the peplum slightly gathers at the beginning and gradually flares out as it gets longer. This is shown as a slanted line in the schematic.
Sleeves are not shown on the pattern schematic.

INSTRUCTIONS
Back
Using Combo A, cast on 56 (62) 68 sts and work in stockinette stitch.
After 34 cm = 56 rows (36.5 cm = 60 rows) from the cast-on edge, bind off all sts. The center 18 sts form the neckline; the outer 19 (22) 25 sts form the shoulders.
Front
Work as for the back, but with a V-neck.
To do this, after 14.5 cm = 24 rows from the cast-on edge, divide the work at the center and finish each side separately.
To shape the neckline, work the 3rd and 4th stitches before the edge stitch together (k2tog);
For the opposite side, work the 3rd and 4th stitches after the edge together through ssk (slip 1 knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over).
Repeat this decrease 8 more times, alternating every 2nd and 4th row.
Bind off the remaining 19 (22) 25 shoulder sts at the same height as the back.
Finishing
Sew shoulder seams.
For each sleeve, using Combo B, pick up 49 (52) 55 sts along the upper 19.5 (21) 22 cm of the side edges of the front and back.
Work 4 cm = 6 rows in stockinette stitch, then bind off all sts.
Along the bound-off edge, work the first 3 rows of the crochet pattern back and forth following the stripe sequence. Work 15 (16) 17 repeats between the edge double crochets. This will cause slight gathering of the sleeve.
Sew side seams and sleeve seams.
For the peplum, crochet around the cast-on edges of the front and back in rounds using the crochet pattern and the stripe sequence.
Work a total of 54 (60) 66 repeats and finish after 24.5 cm = 17 rounds.
