WORK INSTRUCTIONS
Cast on 74 stitches on knitting needles No. 5 (using 1 strand of both yarns held together) and knit 2 rows in garter stitch. From the 3rd row (= wrong side row), continue with the main pattern.
When approximately 5 cm of the pattern is knitted, check the width of the piece, which should measure 36 cm. Then continue working and knit until the length of the piece reaches 78 cm (the last row of the pattern = right side row).
Knit the next wrong side row in garter stitch and simultaneously bind off the stitches.
Fold the knitted piece in half with the wrong side inside, and join the side edges using a crochet hook, working a row of half-double crochet stitches through both edges of the bag from the right side.
Simultaneously, without cutting the yarn, work around the top edge of the bag with half-double crochet stitches in the round.
Handle-Strap: Using a crochet hook, create a chain of approximately 145 cm in length. Then, work rows of half-double crochet stitches in both directions, making 2 chain stitches as a turning chain at the beginning of each row (the stitches should be dense).
After crocheting a strap with a width of 4 cm, join the ends with half-double crochet stitches, folding it with the right side inside.
Loops for attaching the strap: Using a crochet hook, create a chain of 6-7 cm in length and, in the opposite direction, work 1 row of half-double crochet stitches. Similarly, create a second loop. Securely sew the loops to the bag, capturing the handle strap beforehand.
