Pattern by Kristina @kris_nitochka (translated)
Yarn: Lana Gatto super soft, 50g/125m, with 2 strands using 3.5 mm double-pointed needles.
The mittens measure 13 cm in length, including the ribbing, and fit a 12 cm palm circumference.
The pattern is the simplest – garter stitch (alternating rows: the first is knit, the second is purl). That means all odd rows will be knit, and all even rows will be purl.
So, cast on 28 stitches (+1 for joining in the round).
Knit the cuff in 1×1 rib for 14 rows.
Then continue in garter stitch for 20 more rows.
DECREASES
Row 21: Knit 12 stitches, knit 2 stitches together for stitches 13 and 14, knit 12 stitches, knit 2 stitches together for stitches 27 and 28. There should now be 26 stitches on the needles (decreased by 2 stitches).
Row 22: All stitches are purled.
Row 23: Knit 11 stitches, knit 2 stitches together for stitches 12 and 13, knit 11 stitches, knit 2 stitches together for stitches 25 and 26. There should now be 24 stitches on the needles.
Continue knitting in this manner until there are 18 stitches left on the needles.
In total, we should make 5 decreases (knit 10 rows).
Row 31 (knit): Knit 2 stitches together. There should now be 9 stitches on the needles.
Row 32 (purl): Purl all stitches in pairs until one stitch remains; purl the last stitch individually.
There should now be 5 stitches on the needles. Pull the yarn through them and weave in the tail.
