YOU WILL NEED
- Plassard Basic yarn (70% acrylic, 30% wool; 105 m/ 50 g) — 10 (11) 13 (16) 19 skeins of light gray (No. 10);
- Knitting needles No. 4.5 and 5;
- Circular needles No. 4 and 4.5;
- 1 auxiliary needle.
Patterns and Schemes
Garter Stitch: Rows in both directions: knit and purl rows – knit stitches; Circular rows: alternate between knitting 1 row of knit stitches and 1 row of purl stitches.
Stockinette Stitch: Rows in both directions: knit rows – knit stitches, purl rows – purl stitches; Circular rows: knit stitches.
Reverse Stockinette Stitch: Rows in both directions: knit rows – purl stitches, purl rows – knit stitches; Circular rows: purl stitches.
2 sts bind off: Slip 1 st as if to knit, knit the next st, then pass the slipped st over the knitted st.
3 sts bind off: Slip 1 st as if to knit, knit the next 2 sts together, then pass the slipped st over the knitted sts.
Cable Patterns
Knit according to the provided charts.
6 sts cross to the right: Slip 3 sts onto the auxiliary needle behind the work, knit the next 3 sts with the main needle, then knit the 3 sts from the auxiliary needle with the main needle.
6 sts cross to the left: Slip 3 sts onto the auxiliary needle in front of the work, knit the next 3 sts with the main needle, then knit the 3 sts from the auxiliary needle with the main needle.
1 st decrease decoratively: On the right side: 1 knit stitch, knit 2 sts together through the back loop when knitting in reverse stockinette or through the front loop when knitting in stockinette; On the left side: knit until the last 3 sts, then knit 2 sts together through the back loop when knitting in reverse stockinette or knit 2 sts through the front loop when knitting in stockinette, finish with 1 knit stitch.
2 sts decrease decoratively: On the right side: 1 knit stitch, knit 3 sts together through the back loop when knitting in reverse stockinette or through the front loop when knitting in stockinette; On the left side: knit until the last 4 sts, then knit 3 sts together through the back loop when knitting in reverse stockinette or knit 3 sts through the front loop when knitting in stockinette, finish with 1 knit stitch.
Knitting Gauge: 18 stitches x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm, worked in reverse stockinette with 1 knit stitch in the center on size 5 needles; Cable pattern with 6 stitches = 2.5 cm; Cable pattern with 9 stitches = 4 cm.

WORK EXECUTION
Back:
Cast on 113 (119) 127 (139) 151 stitches on size 5 needles, allowing for a loose cast on to avoid tightening the bottom of the dress, and knit 4 rows in reverse stockinette = 2 strips of garter stitch.
Continue knitting as follows: 10 (13) 17 (23) 29 stitches in reverse stockinette, * cable pattern with 6 stitches crossed to the right, 7 stitches in reverse stockinette, 1 knit stitch, 7 stitches in reverse stockinette, repeat from * once more, cable pattern with 9 stitches, * 7 stitches in reverse stockinette, 1 knit stitch, 7 stitches in reverse stockinette, cable pattern with 6 stitches crossed to the left, repeat from * once more, and finish with 10 (13) 17 (23) 29 stitches in reverse stockinette.
After 15 cm from the starting row, decrease 8 stitches as follows: knit 2 stitches together through the back loop on both sides of the 1 knit stitch = 105 (111) 119 (131) 143 stitches.
After 25 cm from the starting row, decrease similarly by 8 stitches = 97 (103) 111 (123) 135 stitches.
After 35 cm from the starting row, decrease similarly by 8 stitches = 89 (95) 103 (115) 127 stitches.
After 45 cm from the starting row, decrease similarly by 8 stitches = 81 (87) 95 (107) 119 stitches (3 reverse stockinette stitches remain on both sides of the 1 knit stitch).
Continue knitting.
After 56 (57) 58 (59) 60 cm from the starting row, close 1 x 2 stitches for the shoulder lines on both sides, then decoratively decrease 20 x 1 stitch in every 2nd row and 2 x 1 stitch in every 4th row (23 x 1 stitch in every 2nd row and 1 x 1 stitch in every 4th row), then decrease 27 x 1 stitch in every 2nd row (4 x 2 stitches and 24 x 1 stitch in every 2nd row), and finally, decrease 8 x 2 stitches and 21 x 1 stitch in every 2nd row.
Simultaneously, after 74 (76) 78 (80) 82 cm from the starting row, close the middle 13 (15) 17 (19) 21 stitches for the neckline and finish both sides separately.
For shaping along the inner edge, close 2 x 5 stitches in every 2nd row.
Front:
Knit as the back.
After 56 (57) 58 (59) 60 cm from the starting row, close 1 x 2 stitches for the shoulder lines on both sides, then decoratively decrease: in every 2nd row, decrease 18 x 1 stitch and in every 4th row, decrease 2 x 1 stitch (in every 2nd row, decrease 21 x 1 stitch and in every 4th row, decrease 1 x 1 stitch), in every 2nd row, decrease 25 x 1 stitch (in every 2nd row, decrease 4 x 2 stitches and 22 x 1 stitch), and in every 2nd row, decrease 8 x 2 stitches and 19 x 1 stitch.
Simultaneously, after 69 (71) 72 (73) 74 cm from the starting row, close the middle 15 (17) 17 (17) 19 stitches for the neckline and finish both sides separately.
For shaping along the inner edge, close 2 x 3 stitches, 2 x 2 stitches, and 1 x 1 stitch in every 2nd row (2 x 3 stitches, 2 x 2 stitches, and 1 x 1 stitch), 2 x 3 stitches, 2 x 2 stitches, and 2 x 1 stitch (2 x 3 stitches, 2 x 2 stitches, and 3 x 1 stitch), 2 x 3 stitches, 2 x 2 stitches, and 3 x 1 stitch in every 2nd row.
