Cast on a number of stitches divisible by 8+1, depending on your gauge, to join in the round.
Just to clarify, the hat will be inside out (the wrong side will be the outside), so knit both sides neatly! It’s up to you whether you want to knit it with a folded brim or without.

Knit in a 1×1 rib stitch until reaching the desired height.
For me, it’s 20 cm without a brim and 30 cm with a brim.
Once you’ve reached the required length, divide the stitches into 4 equal parts, ensuring each part begins with a purl stitch.
When decreasing, knit the purl stitches through the back loop❗️

Row 1: Knit together the first 3 stitches (1 purl, 1 knit, 1 purl), then continue according to the pattern for each section.
Row 2: Follow the pattern.
